that car will not be fun on the ramp. be very careful if you go ahead with it. i have seen 2wd trucks go swimming. the new seadoos are heavy too. i have 2 and they are almost 1800lbs combined with gas in them. plus the plastic bumper is going to get owned by the trailer.

Thanks for the pics, that gives me more to think about. I in the debate as to if I want to get one for my sister pt cruser and wait until the vehicle is free to use, or get it for the Z and have that piece of medal and have a hard time getting it in and out of the lake with a manual car (the Z). I have an aftermarket exhaust so I would be able to make that spacer so i don't have to cut the bumper.

I've thought about that one before but I already have enough vehicles around the house. They aren't mine and none have hitches anyway. :/

hey guys, im actually thinking of getting a hitch (one day).

It would be to tow small things with my 06 350z but im a bit worried about the whole sliding off the ramp issue.

I currently tow my jet ski with my intrepid 3.5L and ive never had any problems even with nearly bald front tires (like 60,000 km on them).

Keep in mind the intrepid is about the same weight if not lighter than the Z but the engine sits over the front wheels giving it a slight advantage. I bet if it was an AWD g37 it wouldnt be an issue

However i would imagine the weight of the jet ski (even if its floating slightly) would press down on the rear axle to get some more grip in a sticky situation.

Can anyone add more details to this old thread about their towing experiences. I also saw a hidden hitch design for the Z a while back that inserted the tongue under the bumper, the tongue was like a U shape so when the tongue was off, you couldnt see a thing. It really sucks having to wait for the towing car to be free.

BTW the jet ski weighs under 1000lbs with the trailer (800 lbs jet ski).

Thanks everyone
