Default Door edge grill comes ott

Anyone tried the door edge treatment on the grill and had the pieces come loose? The mod looks great but the adhesive does'nt hold too well. I'm thinking of maybe using carefully applied contact cement. Any thoughts out there? Thanks

Default Try hot glue

Steve, I had to use a spot of hot glue at the ends on the under side. That seems to have done the trick. Good luck.

I didnt do it to my car, but I had it on the doors of my last car, I found that the adhesive they use becomes sticky in the heat, mine came off a few times, Id just stick it back on...

Default Mine came off too....ughghg

I put mine on Sat and thought how cool it looked on a chrome silver. It was about 90 in Dallas Sat and it literally just ooozed off. Not sure what the heck to do know. Have enough for another batch, but not sure how to get it to stick better....

epoxy will do it, but be careful you dont glue yourself to the car. you need to remove all adhesive that was on it. doesnt the adhesive come pre applied to it? gotta get all that off, then use epoxy, ill hold through the next world war.

I did it recently and love the look.

Mine is peeling off a touch time to time. I just stick it back on. I'll probably get mad soon enough and go get some hot glue also.

Does Kragen/Pep Boys/AutoZone sell that stuff?

better luck finding hot glue at a fabric store. like hancock fabrics or micheals(sp?). its typicly used to glue fabric. peels off easily... but itll hold good. its really think glue, you just heat it to make it liquid, if you reheated it, it would liquify again. but I think it needs to hit like 200degrees at least to dream of melting.

What about Super glue, that should hold alot better than hot glue which can be messy.

I have had mine on for 3 months. Usually in the first month it tends to loosen up and start to come off. Just put it back on and after you have done this 2 or 3 times it will finally stay on.
