In my recent experience, painting your calipers will look so good it will get your car stolen. I sweated in summer Arizona heat for 3 hours jacking the car and painting my calipers red. Loved the look, but didn't have but 3 days to let it soak in whether red was right for me, cause the Z went to the local chop shop.

So, in my opinion, red calipers look so good that thieves will target you.

Some may say it's what I deserved for "ricing" out my cheap stock calipers, but BTW, that is just a really cruel thing to say to a guy who got his Z stolen.

Just paint 'em if you want, it's your car. I painted mine and nobody has ever said anything about them. Maybe they were just being nice LOL. I did it so the silver wouldn't clash with the spokes. I'm not going to say what color I painted them but it looks nicer than silver yet is subtle, (not red, blue or yellow.)

Thanks for your blessing/permission.
Im just making the point that when you paint your stock cailpers you look jsut as bad as the dude who painted his 91 civic calipers. Its not a flattering look in my opinion
My opinion is the only one that matters. Guess I missed "the dude who painted his 91 civic calipers" -then again, what he did doesn't concern me. Hope he likes it.
dont get me wrong, if i had the chance i would paint them black or silver because the stock surface looks like dogchit.
I recommend you do it, as the stock color isn't anything wonderful. Silver, black, red, whatever. It will be an improvement, and you won't say, "Man I wished I left them grab dirt color! It was so much better." If you don't believe me, don't do it.

EDIT: I just realized this post may sound contentious, but I'm pretty laid back. Read it with more of a whatever tone, as that's how it's intended. I looked into getting the BBK (Stoptech is actually a few minutes drive from me) but in the end, decided that red stock met my needs. Get the BBK if that's what you need or just want (heck, I spent over $6K on the body, wheels, tires, etc.). I fully understand "want" heh.

i went a different route.....yet i still stand firm against the painting of calipers with a bright caliper.
