could anyone tell me the diferance between the 6 connector plug head light and the 8 connector plug head light, are the housings the same meaning will my hid harness fit in any other head light that is an hid ? reason for asking is because someone did a hit and run on my z and screwed up the fender , door ,headlight and the carbon bumper . if some one could help it would be highley appreciated, or if some one has a head light for sale that would work that would be even better. and by the way its an 04

What other types of head lights are you thinking about replacing your current ones with besides a 03-05 or 06+ lights?

I would like to replace it with a stock hid one if possible . all I need is the passenger side headlight , I would replace them with the 06-07 model if I could find them at a good price.

If your Z 03-05 Z has HIDs then any 03-05 will be a direct replacement. If you are going with 06+ they will work also but you will have to cut one of the wires (Can't remember if it's the blue or green) or else the yellow blinkers will away stay on. They will still flash and blink if you leave the wiring alone and still blink if you cut them.

Splice the blue wire into the green and black wire for proper turn signal operation.

So that's it huh. You're trying to cheap out with a ebay replacement. I've taken 03 and 06 lights apart before and techically if you can get everything in the right place I'm sure it will work. I have a feeling the ebay ones are not HIDs. You got a linke? As for the harness you'll need to manually wire up the missing connectors.

The housing looks okay from what I can tell. It may be missing holes to secure the 3 bolts for the HID ballast. That wiring is definitely not OEM. Buy it for the house but transfer all your existing wiring over. I never seen a base non HID wiring so maybe that's what he is selling.

The guy who is selling has no idea what he is talking about:

like new headlight for a nissan 350z years 2004-2006
The years are 03-05 and 06+

lights where bought brand new for my 350z sport touring edition,
No such thing as a Sport Touring unless it's some Canadian trim

the nissan 350z models between 04 and 06 range from classic to sport to racing,
Don't ever remember Nissan having those trims.

That's a hard question to answer without seeing the product. Your HID bulb is held in place by a metal snap pin. As long as you can secure the bulb in the hole I don't see why not if the housing is the same. You may need to ask the seller to measure the circumference of the hole where the main bulb will go. Also have him check if there's a small screw plate on one side and two notches across from it for the pin. This should be on the metal part inside the housing.

Best way to do it is to use the harness from your original lights. Insert the wires in the same position from your new 06's into your old harness. The blue will be spliced into the green and black leaving six wires for six positions (06 lights have seven wires). Once done you can just plug the original harness with new lights into your car's original wiring.

Only problem is your old lights will be missing a wiring harness. Try to source the harness at the dealer if you want to sell your original lights with its harness intact.

I just took down my 04 lights and like you guys said, the 04 has 6 pins and the 06 has 7. The 06 plug is different in size, so how can I get it to plug in? Other than that, I'd have to cut the blue to connect to the green and black?
