Default After rolling your fenders.... PAINT CHIP/CRAAAACK!!! What should I do??!!

I noticed that after I rolled my fenders...the paint started to chip...what would be a good alternative to repairing that edge??? I was thinking about getting somebody to paint over the paint chips with that truck liner stuff?! I was wondering if anybody else has had this dilemma...and what they are doing to resolve this problem...

Please let me know if this is a good option...to get a professional to spray some of that truck liner stuff on the inner edge of the fender...

thanks guys!

I'm getting mine done this week. Everyone has told me that they WILL crack -its not a matter of IF. Hopefully the paint only cracks on the inner area.

I do know someone that coated the inside of the lip to help prevent rusting where his cracked. I don;t know how much it helps though.

Recently rolled my fenders (Friday July 20th) and I had no cracking at all. You just need to either have the person rolling your fenders or yourself take the time to properly heat the area.

I got mine rolled w/ no paint cracking. Using a heat gun and working out in the sun on a hot Louisiana sun = no cracks

Default hmmmmmmm....

I was even thinking of putting some tint or clear film on the inner edge to protect that area...

I might just go and put some of that spray on bedliner stuff on the inner well...

thanks guys!

You can buy black rubberized spray stuff at most any auto parts store and spray it yourself. It's not as durable as the truck liner stuff but it seals the paint and protects it from most debree.

Actually the shop suggested brushing a little POR-15 on the inside lip. They said it is VERY tough stuff and will not crack.

I have rolled 7 Z's and multiple others, NEVER cracked even a little paint under the fender. Its a shame people arent more careful as they give fender rolling-when done correctly a bad name. I would have a shop or you could, just take some touch up paint and cover any chips or cracks. Clean up any rust first of course. Good luck to you.

BTW-Mine were rolled over 2.5 years ago not 1 crack since...

When I rolled fenders, I used a wooden baseball bat...and not a metal one. The wood tends to absorb some of the pressure that is exerted by the metal on metal effect. Using heat and a wooden bat should give you the desired results if you want to try it again.

you can use super glue when the crack isn't visible. Just lightly dab it where the crack is and it will seal and prevent the paint from chipping.

You can also use touch up paint.
