Default headlight peeling covered by warranty??

the other day when i was washing the car i noticed that the inside of my passenger side headlight is peeling some sort of clear coat or something. I thought it was hazing but it wouldn't come off when i tried to rub it off with lots of force and elbow grease. It's very noticeable when the headlights are on.

Has anyone else experienced this?? I've only had the car roughly 4-5 months and it was not there before. I'm getting an oil change today and i'll mention it to them while i'm there..but i wanted to ask my fellow z owners if this is covered by warranty so i dont get the run around from the service manager. I tried taking pics but the glare was really bad. And the headlights are too bright to photo at night.

any feedback would be appreciated.

The headlights have no covering on them. Unless you got some type of paint protection from 3M or similar.

Okay your confusing me. You said you went downstairs and started to scratch it off. That tells me it's on the outside. Are your headlights faded in any way, or oxidized? Plastic headlights are known for that and you might need to get some plastic headlight cleaner at a autopart store to buff them out.

Yea thats on the outside. That is the start of oxidation. Get some headlight cleaner from autoparts store and go to town on the headlight. It will take care of it.

There's no clear coat on the inside also. This stuff is made out of lexan and chances are you have hazing. I had this issue once and thought it was on the inside, but after cracking the headlights open it was actually on the outside. Unless you've opened your lights before your not going get any on the inside. I would try plastic polish and cleaners on the outside first like Mcguires.

Question on what product you used? I have this problem. On kit was in a Silver sealed baggy for 20 dollars.
