just wondering...
I tried to do a search but didnt really find much, i was just wondering about replacing the stock roof with a glass roof. I think that would be really cool to have a panoramic roof on a z. ive seen CF ones but this would be cool...
structural integrity compromised? How would this play out in the event of a roll-over or hard broadside accident? I understand the Roadster is built and tested for a roll-over scenario but in such an event, perhaps no roof would be better then shards of glass raining down on you? Just a thought. Definitely an interesting idea but who knows...

I had been thinking about this too, off and on. This or a REAL CF roof replacement. Would deff. be cool, either way. I think the structure would be fine, since you'd just be replacing the roof panel and leaving the pillars and supports intact. Wouldn't be any worse off in a rollover than any other car that comes with a panoramic roof.
i mean it doesnt have to be the whole roof just a big piece of roof cut out and replaced with a glass one, i mean the same concept of an aftermarket sunroof but just one that doesnt open...and obviously it would be tinted b/c of the heat...
interesting, but i'd probably not make it out of standard automotive glass. way too heavy. Make it out of something lighter. or, do a targa, and make the targa a glass piece (or other see through material that's lighter than glass).
^ Yeah, that'd be $$$$. First you gotta do a custon $8k targa mod, THEN get a vustom roof made. Could be done, though. I recall there was a company that made smoked transparent roof panels for the Honda Del Sol; you just had to swap over the liner trim and latch machanism from the stock targa roof.
