Default Fading Side Mirrors...

Did a search (thank you forum *****). But, didn't come up with anything.

Does anyone have any problems with their side mirrors fading? I noticed after washing the car last week that my side mirrors were very dull with little to no shine at all.

I polished them up with some standard paste polish. It helped a little. But, you can tell that they're not up to par with the rest of the car's paint shine.

It's an 03 that has always been garaged or under a car cover.

Is the only option to replace them? It's starting to look that way. If so, anyone have a good link for some OEM redline side mirrors?

Thanks in advance.

Word is that the side view mirrors are painted, but not covered with clearcoat.

I already had mine painted. They mirrors are short on clearcloat from the factory. Not to mention that red paint already has a tendency to fade to pink anyways.

You're right. I went out to get a closer look just now. They are painted and not a solid colored plastic. I guess a paint job would take care of this little problem.

Thanks for setting me straight.

If you took the mirrors off the car, i couldn't imagine it being more than $100 to respray them with a fresh coat.

Replace them with LevelSport's blue mirrors - wider angle and easier on the eyes . A no brainer . Did it when my 2003 mirrors were still new and haven't looked back.No pun intended !

Mine look damn near grey from the black now on my '06. I'm getting them repainted by CarToyz for $60 a piece, along with some other stuff.
