Im not sure what windshield company is around there. trust me DONT turn it in as a claim on your insurance unless you want your premium to increase. I have replaced my windshield twice and each time was around 250 beans. 250 bucks now or pay 20 bucks increased premium for eternity. you decide. Insurance is just legalized extortion anyway.

HA thats the same company I used. Came out to fix it while the car sat at home and I was at work. Left me a bill. They did a fantastic job.

stock glass sucks anyway.

also, alot of insurance policies allow for a free windshield replacement... you should check first.

My Z is still under warrantee, but this will never be covered, so is there any reason to go to the dealer (who, based on prior experience will try to charge me $700)?

Also, I'm going to get my window's tinted (possibly at the same time as the windshield is replaced), anyone in the Durham/RTP/Raleigh/Chapel Hill, NC region had good luck with a particular tint shop?
Just replace my windshield last week. Mobile installer too a little over an hour $265

I feel ya - my windshield was also the victim of a rock from a dump truck over 1/4 mile in front of me, as was my wife's (I've got a ZR, she has a Lincoln Aviator). We didn't put hers on insurance ($250 deductible) and it cost us around $320. I've priced mine, and the cheapest I've found so far is $370.

Sun Protection in Cary (off James Jackson) does an excellent job, and they have fantastic prices.

In any case, stay away from the dealer.
