Guys, this might be a dumb question as it might be a smart question... either way pls go easy on me...
I have noticed that your OEM remote openers are a set of key alone and remote alone... mine are a combo, the pics are attached...
What I want to ask, does this system exists in the US? how much a new set is running for and where can I find it? I bought my car with only one key set. I called the previous owner asking for the spare key... well he doesn't know where it is... So I need to buy another one... Over here the dealership is acting crazy, prices are like 4X more than those in the US...
thanks

I bought some blanks on ebay, for about $30 for a pair, and had my nissan dealer cut them. You can get used fobs on ebay for about $20 each. I have never seen the system that you have, but it is nice! I wouldnt mind having it, but I would want it to have the trunk release!

Can I open the car with normal keys (w/o pressing the remote button) and turn the car on? wouldn't it mess something in the car's system?
I am asking this because I went to two key cutting shops, no one advised me to do it except buying a spare new from the dealership...
Sorry for asking...

They have to be programmed by the dealer, but you can lock, unlock and start your car with just a key even if it was locked with a key fob no problems. They will only charge you one programming fee for all of your keys, so my suggestion is buy a pair of spares, have your local locksmith cut them, then pay the fee to nissan to have them programmed. That is the cheapest way to get copies...

You know somehting? The Tiida/Altima/Murano/etc.... they all have key fobs similar to the ones in the US, a key and a remote... except for the 350Z...
You think your fob and key combo can be programmed into my car?
Or better... if I can get ahold of a Tiida set of fobs, can I program them into my Z?

So you have no remote to open the hatch? Is your key the one that originally came with the car? They are expensive, so maybe the previous owner lost his keys and replaced them with something cheaper that worked.

That was my point. The dealer has the key's with no remote built in like the rest of us. The remote is separate and rather expensive. Maybe the previous owner just bought a key blank with built-in remote(only 2 buttons) rather than buying a simple blank and separate remote with 4 buttons.
Good luck.

Called the nissan dealership today and inquired about the fob... the set I saw 4 months ago was gone, now they can fit me with the fob alone key alone system... I need to go in person and check out the fobs they have...
BTW, the encryption on the back of my set is the following:
SIEMENS VDO
5WK4 876/818
433 MHz CE

Ok great news... I called the previous owner again... he remembered he might have left them in one of his houses (yes... Qataris have like 3-4 houses each along with a set of 12 high end cars...). So I picked him up and went together...
He found them!!! now I got another key/fob combo the same as the one I have and another key w/o fob...
