Question Opinions needed on Track rim color change

I love my OEM Track rims, but I'm getting tired of boring old silver. I'd like to have them powdercoated gunmetal. While I'm at it, I'm thinking of having the door handles painted to match the wheels exactly. I asked a member to do a quick photoshop for me, and here's what he came up with. What do you guys think? I think it looks pretty good and will most likely do it, just wanted to get some others opinions as well I've seen people paint the handles black, but I've yet to see gunmetal with matching wheels. I'm thinking of doing something with the emblems as well...

since your car is black, I would go with painting it black with a red stripe around the rim. I've seen it in another person's post and it looked sick. Looked similar to the volk time attacks

I would normally tell people to save up money and buy new set of wheels rather than wasting money modifying stock wheels..
However, if you must insist, I would say that gunmetal is your best option.

I agree that its better to save for a new set of wheels, but if you're going to paint them, the gunmetal will look good.

I really don't want to upgrade the wheels since the Rays are so light and I honestly like the style. I don't need anything wider since I don't track or race, and I also have spacers to fill out the wheel well.

I've seen the time attack scheme on the Track rims before, and it looked great....on his car. I'd rather not do something like that because before you know it, the whole "time attack" thing will be so played out, I'll have to completely redo my wheels again, lol. I think gunmetal is more 'timeless', I guess.

Thanks for the opinions guys. Anyone else car to share theirs?

Have you priced having this done yet? I started looking into doing this to a set of wheels a few months ago but, there isn't a shop locally that would do it. I would have had to send them out and once the cost of shipping was factored in, it would have been almost as much to just get new wheels. Plus, you can always sell the OEM wheels to help offset the cost of new ones. Not trying to change your mind, just some things to consider.

Thanks! That's what I'm wanting to do to my SB Z, right there.

No, I haven't done any pricing yet, but there's a place here in Tulsa who I'd more than likely use. They powdercoated my front timing cover black, and did an excellent job.

I suggest you paint your rims & door handles instead of powdercoating them. Your track rims are forged and powdercoating them will weaken its structural integrity (due to heat involved in the powdercoating process). Same thing with the door handles -- I believe they are plastic, not metal, so powdercoating them is not recommended.
