Smoked JDM clear tail lights?
Has anyone done this or is a really dumb idea? I mean would smoking the clear tail lights produce the exact same look as smoked stock red tail lights? Or would it produce a different look?
Of course if it looks the same then smoking clear tails will be such a waste of money since most people pay more to replace the stock ones.
Appreciate ANY comments cause i thought about a light tint not too dark. Thx.

Not as simple as it seems. The tails are bonded together. The oven method won't work; you would need to dremel them apart. The cut would have to be very precise, and it would be pretty difficult to insure an airtight bond when you glue them back together. Also, from what I know, the lenses rest very tightly against the reflector, so the amount of material taken off the lens from cutting them open might compromise your ability to put them back together without using an epoxy filler of some kind.
That being said, I would love to see pics from anyone who pulled it off!
