Default 350z Paint Sucks

Well, add me to the list of frustrated Nissan paint haters club. Just got a giant rock chip to add to the many pin head ones I already have. You guys weren't kidding! My friggin Hyundai has less and its 7 years old.

I can't imagine how this thing is going to look in a few years. I hope they have touchup paint for the SMB, looks like I'm going to need it. I'm gonna have to go grandpa and get a bra I guess. Too late for a clear bra. damnnnn

We need a car condom for our Zs. I think we ought to just put a clear bra on the entire car and dub it car condom and we wont ever get rock chips again.
I guess im lucky. My Z is going on 3 years now and i really dont have any chips. I have a clear bra protecting the bumper, hood and mirrors. Keeps the paint nice and clean.

Stop tailgating people.

I usually keep as much distance between me and the guy in front of me as possible.

I have spots the look like "touch up paint" on my fenders. I have never used touch up paint though its like its bubbled in spots. I've come across three now.

No tailgating here. I hate tailgaters and have several tricks to deal with em. My fav is to use your wiper fluid. Its funny to look in the review mirror and see the tailgater get pissed as his vehicle gets showered with blue liquid . hah! or better yet, a quick tap of the brake gets em broilin as well. too fun.

I never heard or saw a thing, just little rocks lauched by semis I guess. Its one thing to hear a big clank but just to have this many in this little time is disheartening. Ordering a bra today.
Argh!

I clear braad (<--word??) my fenders, lights, and mirrors. Left out the bumper...way to pitted. I'll repaint then clear later. Nissan clear coat is the softest I've ever maintained, and i used to detail. Gotta love super black too. whatever...i try my best.

I have an 06 I bought last September and I have gotten quite a few serious rock chips. Just like that pic in the OP, it just gouged through the paint. My Z is a DD, and I drive it on the Washington D.C. beltway and Route 95 5+ days a week. I should have invested in a clear bra when I bought her! : /

This is why I purchased the clear bra right away.

But just to let you know, it isn't just Nissan paint. It is all manufactures these days. The paint needs to meet the enviromental specs, and now cars chip much easier than they use too.

Our 2001 Altima looks much better than our newer Nissans we have had. Our Acura chips easy, our Camry we had chipped easy. The only cars that don't seem to be german cars. My audi never had a issue.

Clear bra FTW!

As for tailgaters, I slow down to really **** them off so they'll have to change lanes to get around me. Works every time.
