Default Q for those with Auto Dimming rearviews 07 vs 03-06

I recently replaced my stock Auto Dim rearview for the one that has the compass as well.
Now when i had my stock rearview, as soon as it got dark all the lights behind me looked green, regardless whether they were high beams or regular lights, close or far, which I thought was pretty neat...I have an 07 Enthusiast.
Now with this one I really dont see a difference. I haven't had anyone shine their high beams at me yet but just regular lights look the same (white) whether i turn it on or off...
The rearview I have on now is used so I am guessing probably an 03-06 model. My stock, again, was an 07.
I kinda got used to seeing all green at night, but maybe the older mirrors aren't as sensitive?
Sorry about the rambling..I guess my main question, for those who have it...do yours kick in at all times at night (like my 07 does) or do they look normal until you have a 4x4 on your *** with their lights right behind you type thing?
Nothing has been changed in the car as far as darker tint after this new mirros etc...it's had 20% all around from the get go...
I'm trying to see if its something normal with this mirrors or maybe it's not working properly.... thanx!

Hmm guess i should have phrased things differently...i think my post confused people....
I just want to know if my rearview mirror is working properly or not....compared to my "old" one because it is not dimmed at all times at night like the stock one is...

Cover the light sensor with your thumb and see if you notice a change in color.

I did while driving (cover the sensor, turn the mirror on/off while lights were behind me) and noticed nothing, no change....however I tested with a flashlight shining it right on the mirror and it did dim down a bit (although not as green as my stock mirror. I wonder if on this one it just has to be really "in your face" bright for it to kick in. Like I said my old one would dim/turn green as soon as ANY light was visible at night....
