Relocating the bright light switch....Can it be done (reasonable)

I grew up driving cars where the high beam switch was on the floor...lower left side and switched with left foot.
I would much prefer to have it there for the Z.
Anyone know how easy/tough it would be to have the switch rewired to the floor?

Okay, I'm bored today so I'm gonna spend a few minutes "educating" you yahoos! LOL!
When aggressively driving twisty roads I like to have my left hand on the steering wheel and right hand on the gear shift.
When I have to hit the bright switch it means I have to (1) move right hand to steering wheel, (2) use left hand to operate the switch, (3) move left hand back to steering wheel, and (4) move right hand back to gear shift.
If I had the floor switch I'd (1) move foot to switch & operate and (2) move foot back to clutch.
That's half as many movements. Plus the foot movements are faster than hand movements. Plus I never have to release grip on steering wheel....which if I've got the wheel cranked around to navigate a curve is not a really good idea.
Simple economy of motion, folks.

By the way, fail, I'm not talking about giving up any of the advantages of current car technology; I like the power everything, VDC, LSD, stero, Homelink, etc as much as anyone.
I simply want to add another switch for IMPROVED convenience & safety with my driving technique.

"umm i dont know what kind of z your driving but i can easily turn brights on and off with my left hand and dont have to take my hand off the wheel.'
Let me see you do it when you've got, for example, the wheel cranked to the right when going around a curve.

you say when your driving that you don't have to worry about shifting because you're normally in 3rd gear so it wouldn't affect your foot. So if your not shifting why is your hand on the gear shift **** in the first place? You do know that you get much better control out of the car with two hands on the steering wheel right?

It would be fairly simple with a foot tap switch. you would jsut need to clip the wires from that portion of the switch and relocate them to the floor foot switch. All you need is a hot and ground. Hell if you wired them in parallel you dont even have to loose the highbeam functionalilty of the switch up top.
Id say look up the wiring in the service manual. It would be simpiler to run 2 wire than totaly rewire your highbeams for a autosensing switch and relays.
To each his own, I personaly wouldnt do it though. Its your car, you have the tools now make it happen. Do a write up anlet every one know how it works. Hell with enough thought you can wire a button on the steering wheel.

when running hard you keep two hands on the wheel anyway. Removing your right hand only to shift then back to the wheel. keep your left hand at about 10 o clock and flick your fingers out it hits the lever and automatically nocks it into brights. Its really alot easier then changing alot of stuff to relocate in my opinion. Although the cadillac idea would rock.
