Default Why lower..isn't the Z low enough?

I lowered my GTP cuz the wheelwell space was tremendous...now that I got the Z i told myself that I dont even need to lower it cuz it looks so low already and wheelwell clearance already looks like its lowered.

Just wondering why you guys are lowering even more!

Man, I'd love to lower my Z by at least an inch, but stock the front of my Z scratches when I get in the underground garage at work!
Not much, just a little bit, still is very frustrating.

Marc.

Id lower it only for performance, lower center of gravity on the track. but for street use, I see no reason.

funny how some appearance mods are rice, while others are not... who decides?

Yeah, I've been wondering that myself lately. I mean any mod thats don't add to the performance is consider "Rice". I think its Haters that decides.

Lower the car for street use is counter productive. the front bumper going to get destroyed if you hit a pot hole. And if your car is on a street with a slight incline parked by the curb. you or your passenger will not be able to get out without hitting the door on the curb. I had this happen to civic (stock height, no mods) the bottom of the door scraped the sidewalk. Also, anyone that drops their car, claims what ares just said about lower gravity and never takes it on the track is bull. the car is low enough to be stable on any street.

forget that, Im 99% positive, if I do lower it, and do autocross it, I wont tell a damn bit of difference, but atleast I could possibly rationalize it as such, any suspension mods I would get would be for the other benifets to new suspension, not the lower center of gravity, hence why I havent bought a cheap set of lowering springs, and need to save for a full suspension kit.

i cant lower my car (not that i'd want to...i think the Z is fine the way it is)....i bottom out when pot holes swallow up my car on the way to work everyday. just in detroit though. oh no no...when im in the UofM parking lot at college i bottom out too because they have them damn speed bumps. i go over them at 2mph and still bottom out.

atleast they're doing their job in lowering speed. next time ill just park my car on the side and get out and walk over the speed bumps. hopefully i dont bottom myself out.

hey mysunset350z,
have you tried to go at an angle when going over the speed bump? if you angle it correctly, you should not bottom out. but be prepared for a long line of cars behind you while you slowly zig zag your way over speed bumps.

i've went over it sideways, backwards, in reverse, i even pushed my car over once (just to be a smart a$$), it still bottomed out. i think they're a bit over sized to begin with. i just go around them when i can, and have to park and walk a longer distance then usual just to keep from having to go over the ones i cant get around. (i have a 15-20 minute walk to get to my classes)......all i have to say is...... WELL WORTH IT!!

around my town we have these things called Speed Humps. These things are hell for my Z. I have to go about 10 mph to go over them and usually I go even slower. I am so scared of bottoming out or ripping off my splash guards. They are about a foot foot and a half high and six feet wide. Really scary stuff, that is unless you are in a pick up truck. A friend of mine had his dad's pickup while his car was in the shop. We went about 65-80 over them. Wow. Some serious air. We did that atleast 15 times...
