Default Xmas gift for girlfriends 350z. Please help!

Hi everyone. I tried searching but couldn't find what i was looking for. My girlfriend has a 2007 350z (i convinced her to get it haha). Her car didn't come with navigation so for xmas i got her one Anyway, i wanted to mount it in the dash in the center compartment...where the OEM navigation would be located. So my question is... i have seen several 350z's at car shows and on these forums with clear or transparent center compartment doors so that you can see what's inside(some people put aftermarket navi's behind the clear door, others put gauges). I figured since i have seen this several times that a vendor makes them but i can't find them anywhere. If anyone can point me in the right direction i would really appreciate it because i'm trying to make this gift as cool as possible. TIA!

I've never seen anything like that. And the cubby is only deep enough for an LCD screen...an entire navigation unit will not fit. I would just mount it in the factory location

Just to clarify I got a Garmin Nuvi 650 not an In-Dash double din unit. I believe the Garmin will fit into the cubby no problem.

Maybe you should get her a new Headunit/DVD/Navi Combo. It replaces the sucky BOSE and you still have space in the cubby to put stuff like an ipod.

i think he is talking about the same cover that meelik has on his 350z. you can find pictures of it on the forums if you search for "evo-r carbon fiber kit installed" Its like the 4th picture down. I'd post it but i'm too lazy. Sorry guys.

Ok, i stopped being lazy and posted it.

that's gotta be a photochop with it open and then closed, and did a layer transparency set at 50% or something so it looks 'clear'

That's what I'm thinkin... You can see the sticker that comes on the lid when you get it from the dealer.

Default nismo

I just bought a tom tom, Fits nicely in center counsel however you cannot charge it while it is in there, to tall with plug in the bottom. Anyways for daily use just leave the lid open, no issues, and does not look bad. Anyways that courtesy parts page says the lid slides in on the 06, does the 07 lid slide in? Anyways a great gift would be k&N air filters or send her car in for tints. nismo oil or radiator caps/ anything that is Nismo authentic you are golden...

That was my first option but the one i wanted would have been between $1500-$2000. The only problem with that is i didn't want it to be her only gift. So instead of spending the $2k on an in dash, i spent in on the Garmin, tiffany's, and some clothing.

I wonder if i can run the power cable through the compartment. I'll have to check it out when i get a chance. I want to install it so it's all ready to go on xmas day. I'll have to also check about the lid sliding in.

Thanks for the responses guys. I have seen that pic before and i do believe it is photo shopped. The dead give away to me is the transparent button to open it. I could have sworn i have seen it in person though. It was a blue Z with all of the interior converted to Blue LED (tach, speedo, hvac, etc). Then he had two blue gauges in the compartment with transparent cover.
