I gave some serious thought to building one to fit between the strut bar and the speaker bar thing behind your head in that empty spot. Then, I gave a little more thought to the fact that pulling a 4 foot long shotgun out of the back of a tiny car to point it at something is simply pointless.

Pistol FTW. Unless you plan on calmly telling your assailant "Hold on a second", whilst you get out of your car, open the hatch, unlock the shotgun and remove it from the rear of the vehicle, it won't really do you much good.

Get a smaller handgun, such as a Glock 23, if that's what you're hoping to use it for.

Then again, if you're wanting to drive your Z in the woods and use it as a duck blind, please provide us with pictures. That's something I'd pay to see.

*EDIT* By the way, why exactly were you wanting to add a shotgun rack, if you don't mind me asking?

When I was working at a local car audio shop about 15 years ago I had a mount built into my sub box for my pistol grip 12 guage. It was pretty crazy and was quite the conversation piece. Oh yeah it was in a Civic.

Well the built motor and TT proj is hasnt blown up in 3 years, getting a good clean sounding system in this car is too much of a pain and not worth it imo. The computer in the car crossed my mind. Well i just got into guns and thought hey.. why not. I have a few pistols but a "trunk gun" is what i need. Im thinking either an AR, AK, or 18.5" barrel 12gauge. And yes only in Texas!! Yeee hAw!

I dont own A shotgun, let alone many shotguns, that would necessitate an entire shotgun rack.

Or a grill for a tailgate party with a keg and frig........................or even better a bow and arrow rack so you can drive the Z and shoot people while there driving by like Zelda style.............................

I know the whole gun thing might sound like a good idea but in all honesty what do you plan to do with this shotgun in the back of the Z? Go kill an alligator/ex-wife/thief and hall it back in the hatch of your 2inch compartment now that there no place to put anything.

Do w/e you would like but guns and Z's don't seem to mix it's not like you can go hunting in the Z but who knows maybe you'll start a fad like the whole crocs sandal thing.

On a side note if you do it and do a clean job on the install, post pics.

I have a ninja sword behind the seats. Easy access. Convenient as hell.

And a small bottle of bleach is always under my seat for easy cleanup.

I actually have 2 smaller katanas that with a push of the button shoot forward (handle first of course) on either side of the drivers side head rest so i can reach back and grab them both and BAM im in action. Now to figure out how to mount the giant licorice dispenser in the roof...
