I haven't been using mine for a few months now but I'm always nervous when going high speeds. I have hood pins but haven't put them on yet. I will soon though.

fiberimages, i have over 2000 miles on it on the interstate. Had the hood on since 2004, never put hood pins on it, fastest i ever went on the interstate with the the cf hood on was 127 on the interstate. It was wobbly as hell but it suprised me.

Depends on the hood. Some people can get away with no pins with theirs but personally I think if you plan to drive fast ever get pins. Safty should always be a important...

Hoods pins for me. I resisted at first because I don't really like the look of hood pins on a street car but, the thought of that hood hitting the windshield at speed scares the crap out of me. Image you're just driving down the interstate, listening to music, kinda zoning and then

BAM

Hood flies open! You'll be lucky if you're not so startled that you try to avoid driving into your own hood and swerve off the road. At a minimum you'll need clean underware. No thanks. I spent 30 minutes and added the pins.

I am using hood pins now after I learned my lesson. On my old car my cb hood flipped back on me and shattered my windshield. ($600 hood + $150 windshield) FAIL. But if you don't like the way hood pins look get those bada$$ ones that are like a push button and almost fit flesh(90 shipped I think)!!!!!!! And if you don't know what hood pins I am talking about let me know so I can forward the classified thread.

My freind didn't have hood pins for over 3 years. He thought he was safe, then one day racing someone on a windy day and BAM!!! The bonnet was screwed, the windsheild cracked, and worse of all the roof was all dented in. And the roof is one the hardest things to fix properly. He's learnt his lesson!

You should learn from others mistakes.

Get the cool button ones, they look good, and if anything give the cf hood that more racey apeal.
