Default Prepping a Bodykit..

Hi Guys,

I've been trying to find some info regarding sanding/prepping a bodykit before paint... is there any write up or step by step anywhere? I've searched for a few hours on the site and find nothing...
I hope someone can point me to the right direction!

Thanx!

if you don't know how to do it it is best to leave to a body shop because it's one of the most important steps in painting. A bad prep with good paint still looks bad.

I just want to know what they do in the process, so that when i take my kit to the body shop i dont feel like an idiot...lol...
and also I can expect what work they are doing to it....I bought a JP body-kit, hopefully it doesnt need too much work and fitment is good..
also is it ideal to put some sort of protectant on kit? scratch gard?
How many layers of paint should I be asking them to apply?

If they're a licensed shop, they'll apply the right amount of paint.
