Default TPMS light and door buzzer removal

I searched and didn't find anyone that did this yet. For those of you who would rather not put on the sensors onto aftermarket rims and are annoyed with the tpms light, just remove the LED. Takes about an hour to take the gauge cluster out and put it back together. All you need is a philips screwdriver, a 10mm socket, and something to pry off the LED. I have no intention of ever using TPMS so I just broke off the LED. I just lifted the circuit board up a little that has the LED's so I didn't have to remove the needles, then used a flat head screwdriver to lift up one side of the LED. No more light. At the same time you can pull off the door buzzer if you like. It's the round thing on the back of the gauge cluster when you take off all the plastic. No more buzzing either with the door open and the key in the ignition.

That's my main concern about some of these "back door" fixes. If you ever trade or sell the car, you're leaving the new owner with an expensive repair if they ever try to use TPMS again.

No other light besides the TPMS effected. It just doesn't light up anymore. If you want to fix it, you could just go back in and solder the connections for both the LED and the door buzzer. It would just require a little more work taking the needles off. Don't plan on selling the car, so that's not a concern for me. It's not like every car in the world has TPMS. We lived before without it.

FYI - the door buzzer is also the speaker for the turn signals

you could have just unpluged the tpms computer under the passenger dash if im not mistaken and then you could have reused it if you ever wanted to.

True. When are you removing your power windows, power steering, airbag, ABS, seatbelt, stereo, and a few dozen other gadgets?

Couldn't pass on that. I've always found this particular comment very annoying; regardless of perspective.
