Rattle from passenger side.. need help.
hey guys,
just like the rest of us, we are all facing this frustrating rattle.. mine is a bit different, and i've searched most if not all of the threads with rattle issues, but none discribed the same problem..
while driving, i step on the gas to reach around 4200 rpm it gives a rattle sound on the passenger side, and it sounds like a metal on metal or glass on metal. i parked the car, step on the gas to get the rpm on 4200 again, but it doesn't show, i then increased it to 5500 rpm and it started again..
so, since i'm on the driver's seat, i cannot tell exactly from where the sound is coming. so i asked my bro to hop in to the passenger seat to try and check out the sound source.. i step on the gas to reach 5500 again, but there is no sound~~~!!!
i asked him to get out, and i get step on it to reach 5500 and it's there!!
so i thought, probably his weight is affecting the sound from showing. so i asked him to open the door wide and try to hear from where the sound is coming.. again i reach 5500 and no sound!!
, so i took him for a ride to check the 4200rpm again, and no SOUND!!!!!...
now he started thinking i'm hearing things!!! so i asked him to get into the driver's seat and try it himself. and he did and he was shocked
...
so i parked and checked again, step it to 5500 and the sound showed, while keeping that on 5500, i pull my arm and tried to press on the door/door panel and glass, but it doesn't seems to stop the sound from coming..
i'm a bit pissed with this sound, i don't want to take it to the dealer yet, cuz i know that they'll keep it for 4 days at least to try and figure it out, and i can't afford that cuz i don't have a 2nd car..
what do you think guys?? how can i go on about checking the problem?
thanks

I have an occasional rattle on the passenger side also. At first I thought I had blown one of my speakers. Because it does sound like a little peice of metal vibrating on another piece of metal. But I turned off my radio and it still was there. I also took everything out of the storage compartment behind the passenger seat. I have noticed that the sound appears when I'm doing around 70 or 80 mph. I haven't heard it in while (knock on wood). If you figure it out let me know.
I had an issue with mine rattling a while back. I took the lower panel off of the dash on the passenger side and adjusted that knee plate or whatever that thing is. That's what was causing mine.
