Anybody know how much it is from start to finish and how long it would take. I'm assuming with the prep to mask and cut then repaint maybe around $400.00? Wouldn't that be less than getting the FRP for $600.00+ and then having to repaint it from there?

It would be a real finished piece, but still there are better options than that.

Holy S*** are you serious? Doesn't that seem a bit steep considering what's done?

I'm not having them do it, waiting for other options.

Well you could do it yourself, and it probably wouldn't look as good, unless you know exactly what you are doing. But, I'd want it with a finished look.
Yeah, I'd be interested if Jim did it, but don't know, will depend on the timing, seeing as I have other things ahead of that that need to be taken care of first.

I'm going to attempt this soon. I will be doing all the cutting and the body shop will sand and paint it when I finish. Wil let you guys know how it goes. I'm looking for something like this.

I want to do this as well but I'm worried that the hood will look rough or be sharp as hell on those cut edges. Do you think a rolled edge is required? You could cut the vents a little small and notch the metal on the edges, fold it down, then re-weld. I have a Varis duct and the 1st thing people do is stick their friggin' fingers in it. I'm not trying to walk out from dinner to retrieve a finger and have a bloody mess on my car.
Also, is the hood just 1 layer of aluminum? You wouldn't see the space between 2 layers by cutting this? I am just assuming that welding is a must for this after cutting.
