If you are just changing bulbs it's a lot easier to pull the tail lights and reach them from the top. Tail lights pop off after removing 3x10mm bolts on each light. Are you changing to a silver bulb or leds maybe?

its complicated actually, I removed mine...
there are 2 flaps on the bottom, they face up, between the bumper and the muffler, gotta take those 2 screws out.
then there are 2 or 3 in the tirewell, and bottom corners.
next you have to remove the tail lights, this exposes another bolt or 2 that has to come out, and these PITA white things that have to be twisted, but even with almost any tool I could want, I could not turn them, and since I was replacing the bumper, I actually had to tear the bumper to get the leverage I needed. I couldnt retwist these when I reinstalled the new bumper, luckily I did not really see any purpose to these.
then you just have a series of clips that you have to be careful with, as well as unplugging the trunk pop and combo lights before you can pull the bumper away.
all in all a pretty difficult job, and I had the shop manual, thats the only way to know where all the bolts are.

VandyZ says: You can get to the rear turn signals by removing the rear tail lights. There are 3 bolts and 2-3 snap in's. Once removed you can reach the rear turn signal bulbs.
