Default My DS Headlight is on ADD. help me please.

Started this past weekend,

i start my car, and my driver side headlight (hid) flickers really fast for about 1-2 seconds and then shuts off. i turn the headlights off and then back on and it does it again. i repeat maybe 20-25 times and then the light comes back in. so freeking weird...

and then it shuts off again maybe 10-15 minutes later.

ive searched 8 pages of headlight problems and most of them are having problems due to breaking apart the headlight or moisture/condensation in them...

my headlights were never taken apart and there was never any moisture/condensation in them.

please help i want to figure this out before i head out to work tmrw morning.

I've seen that happen when the ballast isn't getting enough voltage to it. I've also seen it with a low/bad battery, which might have caused the voltage thing too.

Like I said low voltage is what I've seen cause it. A low battery is just one of many things that can cause low voltage. Worth checking out.

NP, if it's not it let me know and I'll check my service manual. I would now, but I can barely keep my eyes open.

Ballast could be going, or a wiring issue, or as they said low voltage... But it should be fine if you try to start them up with the engine running.

BTW what year car you have? How long you have it? Did you ever replace the HID capsule(s) yourself?

I was thinking it was the fuse, and wow its a pain in the *** getting to the fuse box. but anyway I looked at the fuse and it wasnt blown and I even switched it with the other headlight fuse. still shuts off...

Im coming to the conclusion that its the wiring issue...what should i do? can someone give me inputs please

bad bulb or ballast. I have the same exact issue. Came across a video on you tube with an HID doing the same thing. The culprit according to the video was bad bulb. Get it checked out and keep us updated.

alright so i dont know why i didnt think of this earlier. but i took out the bulbs and i switched them.

PROBLEM SOLVED its the bulb. the bulb went out in the other headlight and what do you know the bulbs arent oem, previous owner used 6000k.
