What can I say man, there is a sucker born every minute. If you think paying $1100 to paint a single bumper and put in 4 screws and 6 plastic clips is reasonable, I wont try to change your mind.

I paid $350 for an oem quality paint job and installed it myself. Maybe he quoted me low because my car is SB and its easy to match, but whatever, apparently unlike you I dont go around trying to find the shop that will give me that highest quote.

Make sure that after the paint cures you get a clear bra put on. It will save you from going through this in the future... not to mention the cost of replacing a headlight....

Just curious, what do clear bras plus install run on average for the Z? They were pretty expensive to put on my bimmer...almost to the point where I'd rather just spend another $300 in a year or two and do the repaint again. I'll only be keeping the car for 2 years max.

Depends entirely on which clear bra is used, how much coverage is needed, the type of coverage (how many inches in width), the attention to detail (custom-cut and tucked around the edges/under lights to keep seam from showing etc.), and who does the wrapping. It can cost anywhere from $400 to $800+.

Everyone has to remember the cost of living is different in every part of the country....so these people may be paying 800 for the same work and quality that can be done at 350 or 400 in another part of the country...... a lot of factors play into it...I got my greddy sides painted and put on by a very good shop and it cost 425.....thats in Central PA

$300 or less for a bumper is what you should pay. The bumper is so easy to take off your-self. There's a write-up here on the removal.
Also I've heard very good comments about the new spray-on clear bra.
Armor coat...body shop is called Western Autobody in West Harrison, Indiana, 25 minutes west of Cincy.

Your absolutely right! I paid $240 for my SB painted greddy sides and I put them on myself & I'm not no where near a body shop man. I had to improvise with longer rivets but my job came out perfecto!!! With the write-up here from Anyone2u....it was a piece of cake but you should have a buddy helper to help. My veilside v1 lip was very easy too!

1000% true

and to add something, the cost of materials can vary WIDELY, and will affect the price of the quote, often significantly. Just like a quote of wheels and tires vay by the specific tire, the quote of body work will (and should) vary widely with the materials used
