Default Veilside lip: Rep or Gen? Help!

Just bought a used primered Veilside V1 lip and I was wondering if any member could help me out. It was advertised as genuine Veilside V1 FRP.

On the gen, there seems from what I recall to be a Veilside logo somewhere on the lip...? Mine has nada. I know I have heard of people filling in the logo before paint, which was my plan, so???

It was advertised as a gen, so I am trying to sort this out before I call out the hounds....

Any help would be appreciated.

Seller said there was a raised V logo sticker that the bodyshop took off.

Fit and quality I would say are Gen.

Thanks in advance all.

EDIT for some pics:

wtf is a "gen"?

I believe the Veilside has an indentation where the logo is stuck on.

If it fits nice then what's the problem? Just so you can say it's genuine?

the FRP and the urethane had raised "veilside" in the center section. the CF piece has the small square badge.

but there should be a veilside stamp on the inner portion of the lip with the part number as well.

Waiting on updated front rear pics. There should be a bump like they said on the rear to show where it was indented. You might have just been F**ked. upside down and inside out.

Help me here...

Where am I looking? Front rear? For an indentation? That may have been filled? I'm lost...

No, the price difference.

+1

It was sold to me as authentic Veilside FRP.

I'm going to give it another look.

This is correct, the definite genuine mark is the veilside stamp/logo on the backside portion, although it looks like they may have painted over it.

ok, on the FRP and the urethane, the letters are raised on the outside but you can faintly see them from the back, even if it had been shaved/sanded. as for the stamp, it would have been a ink/painted stamp marking the piece and it will have the part number and i think it has a lot # as well (for quality assurance). fromthe looks of yours the back seems to have been painted or had very bad overspray, and i really can not see any indentions for the veilside letters

Going to look now, but I am leaning towards gen, as fit and quality are top notch.

After VERY careful inspection, I can see no indents/lettering that have been filled/shaved etc on the outside or inside...
But the fit is perfect!

I will be the first to apologize to the seller if this is gen for grilling him.

Behind the center of the lip there should be a Veilside stamp with a serial# on it. On the front side middle there should be a rectangle indentation designed for the "authentic" Veilside badge which states below, "fortune favors the brave."

If not, then its not genuine. Real stuff have these little detailed things to differentiate themselves.

I am going to strip the inside middle portion of the overspray and take some more detailed pictures

Maybe this will clear it up once and for all....

lol.

EDIT: Seller is sending a photo of, then mailing, original receipt from Veilside as well as the warranty card. And the body shop work receipt, so I will apologize now if I have been mistaken.

Isn't that Spyker's motto too? Hmmm....

EDIT:

Sorry nope, Spyker's is:

“Nulla tenaci invia est via” - for the tenacious no road is impassable

It's not a gen, just sell it to me. Thanks, how much did you get the lip for? Man I want one.

This is what the "gen" V1 lip should look like on the front top side. My version is the urethane one. Why anyone would sand down the logo before painting it would beat me...
