Question Eyelids

If I have a 08 MB Z and I want eyelids, would I be better off buying them painted or unpainted? I want the paint to match but the website (evo-r.net) only supplies black or black pearl.

I guess my question is, would black pearl match my car?
Any information would be great.

Sam

If they only offer two colors, looks like it might be easier to get them unpainted and then color matched? Shouldnt be too expensive.

OP: I would buy them unpainted. Most stuff that comes painted is painted farily cheaply to keep the price down and margins up. So the quality of the paint even if it matches may not be that good.

Depending on the company some stuff pre-painted looks really good, others not so good. Sometimes stuff is mucked up during shipping so even if it did look good when it left, you are now wet sanding out scratches etc... I would find a good local body shop and have them paint it with your color code then you will know they are perfect.

Agreed, but even then i would SUGGEST you leave the car with the shop that paints it, other wise they wont get the color right( personal experience). It should only run you around $65 to get them painted.

not always, I've had a whole kit and a lip painted, never had to leave my car at the shop. Paint has matched perfectly every time.

I didn't realize the OP asked whether they look good or not. Okay I just re-read it he definitely just asked if he should have them painted or not. Why the Jerry Spring Drama over this?! This is why we have pages and pages of crap to read before even getting to the actual point!

I vote for getting them painted by a local shop.

Thanks for the advice. I decided to buy them unpainted.

I have black as well, and I bought my eyelids from theZstore (they come in black), and I simply gave them 5 coats of clearcoat, and they look great. I get tons of compliments.

Default Piece of Cake !

Go to a local AutoBody Paint & Supply and they will color match your car paint , and will put it in a 12 oz spray can for you, and will also sell you a can of the final clearcoat .. Piece of cake , Will color match perfect for under $40.00 !!

Why are there so many freakin' eyelid threads lately?

Are gas prices so high that people have resorted to adding cheap stick on rice mods to their cars, so they can keep their mod habit going in one form or another?

The mods should close these eyelid threads just like the 4,875 Pop Charger threads.
