Default aftermarket headlights and hid kit

okay so heres the problem. i bought a set of aftermarket headlights because when i bought my car the owner before me probably didnt take care of the car. the lens on the headlight were all scratched up. so i installed the headlights about a year ago and they are fogging up i also have the hid kit in there. major condensation and im accumilating a pond in there. cant remember why i installed them both on their the way i did but can someone tell me how to install the headlights. i drilled a hole into the back of the screw cap on the back of the headlights and stuck the hid bulbs in there. i think that this is wrong. are they supposed to be airtight? or is air supposed to be able to flow through? and if the cap on the back is on then the bulb cant go through i think thats why i drilled a hole.

well you definitely shouldnt be drilling holes........

Headlight should be airtight. why not just replace the lenses on your stock headlights?

i would but those headlights are long gone and i didnt know you can just replace them. has anyone put in aftermarket headlights and hid together and made them fit somehow? without having to stupidly modify them like i did. they are the halogen aftermarket ones im sure someones figured it out right otherwise the wouldnt be selling hid kits for the 350z. i want to buy another set of headlights and do it right this time.
