Post Clear corner petition...

I want clear corner lights. I dont want fancy LED's non of that extra junk. I just want the orange strip to be a white strip like on the G35. Yes i know clearcorners.com makes a conversion kit where you can send them your housing etc.... but thats absolutly rediculous.

Can anyone else make these clear corner lights? For like $50?? I know sooo many people would buy them. It would make the car look much sharper. I would keep the turning signle orange, just change the strip...

you can see examples at Clearcorners.com

but those are too fancy and far to expensive!

I doubt making the strip is a huge problem, but getting the light apart safely is. You have to take it apart with a heatgun, and if you reseal it the wrong way you're ****ED.

I am desperate for this same opportunity, but not if it means potentially losing my headlights due to user error!

syfon is correct. I think I have a peice to replace it with. but cant be sure without seeing it out of the headlight. which I am unwilling to open my own.

tried to buy a headlight off ebay a few weeks ago, never hit the reserve tho.

if anyone has a damaged headlight(rock hit it or something) give me a PM, Id be willing to take it off your hands for a discounted price(I just need the seal intact so I can work on unsealing it and resealing it condition of the lens doesnt matter), and if I figure it out to a quality that meets my satisfaction, Ill do yours at cost. I havent seen any threads with anyone losing a head light tho, so I doubt anyone will follow up on this.

you can never be sure... tho that does work for headlights in many(maybe all) cases. theres no telling exactly what type of plastic and sealant nissan used. probably a standard type, but if not you could melt the lens or something.

Default boil it...

Boil in hot water and it will come apart...it doesn't damage the light housing or anyting. just get's the stick stuff all over you pot and light housing...wd-40 takes it right off. you have to reseal it with clear rubber sealant. it works great. Also, be very careful when you are putting back together...do not force anything or it will break. I will post pictures in a few days...my car is in the shop getting the greedy areo kit put on...i am #5 with that kit....i will post in a few days...also, i will sale mine with your core for exchange...

Im tryin to think about that idea... but... I guess water boils "around" that temp. and it would be a more even transfer of heat vs an oven.

but I can think of a pot that would hold a light of that size... I have a 16quart pot with the propane powered turkey fryer. but still, dont think itd fit entirely.

do not drop the whole light in there...just boil the water and once it is hot drop the light in there...it's hard to explain...i have done all my cars this way...my 300zx, probe gt, honda accord etc...it comes out really clean looking and makes it look like stock...

dont drop the whole light?

I understand you boil the water and then I assumed you put the light in...

if you only submerge half of it... would that work?

explain more incase I find a headlight, Id like to have the best shot at making it work. boiling certainly sounds better than cooking...
