Default Just got my '03 Z...no highbeams??

Hey everyone,

I just got my '03 Z today, and I'm absolutely thrilled! However, my highbeams aren't working. The xenon headlights are plenty bright but I still want to know what's going on... Has anyone else had this problem? It sounds like a fuse to me, but I haven't gotten far enough to even check. Any feedback is hugely appreciated!

Thanks!

if your headlights are dark housing, that could be a possiblity as well.

Thanks for the info, I guess I'll have to jack her up on Friday when I'm off work to check. I can't believe you have to take the wheels off to get to the headlight assembly!

I'll have to find a picture of Z headlights with dark housing, I'm not familiar enough with them to know, really. Thanks!

he was talking about the ones that have been painted black. sounds like yours are not painted. it is a PITA to do the lights but that is why the manual "recommends" that the lights be done at the dealer.

Ah, I thought maybe dark housing might have been different than black housing (guess not). I always love car manuals and all their "recommendations". reading through the manual on the Z I saw where Nissan even sells their own brand of car wash.. give me a break lol..

luckily it's a long weekend coming up so I'll have time to get my hands dirty!

Isn't that always the way? Does anyone know where I can find a diagram of the headlight assembly so I will at least know for sure which bulb the high beam is? Better to be safe than sorry

Thanks

Its not too bad just jack her up, remove the wheel and inner front plastic (its divided in two front/back) to expose the back of the headlight.

Its sealed by a round cap, just twist and pull. You will see the high beam bulb at the bottom.

Its just a regular bulb so it should be easy to find at any auto shop.

It seems strange that both bulbs would be burnt out. I would look at my relays and fuses fist since they are the easiest to replace and would make more sense.

Good Luck!

Thanks, Reptile! I thought the same thing that it was odd they're both not working. The fuse box will definitely be my first stop
