get it straight by lining it up where the 350Z was, you should be able to get a general idea where it was..........

You might use a compass (like for drawing circles). Put tape on the sharp point and use a grease pencil instead of a regular pencil. You could then key off of the edge of the trunk lid to draw a reference line.

You can really just use your fingers to pry it off, use some goof-off to help remove the adhesive.
Once removed, clean up the adhesive nicely, maybe some handwax to add some protection.
If you are buying a "FairladyZ" emblem, it comes with a template, and all you do is line it up with the end and left side of your trunk and peel off the adhesive backing.

Use a blow dryer to heat up the entire emblem area with a left-to-right motion, and as your doing that, progressively use the floss to "floss" off the badge, separating the glue from the painted-body of the trunk.

Take your time, there's not need to rush!

When all is off and the remaining glue is still on the painted-body, use a Goo-gone type liquid remover and rub off the remaining adhesive with a soft cotton cloth--also take your time doing this, don't rub your surrounding paint surface to high heaven!

When you get the Fairlady Z badge (hopefully that's what your getting) it comes with a blue styrofoam-like template so that you can line it up against the trunk's lower edge so that the emblem sits in its correct OEM position!

Tah-dah! Done! Goodluck!

after you take the stock 350z badge off, will you still be able to see where it was even after you clean the area and everything?

You wont know untill its off.... some cars are garaged 24/7, others are outside 24/7. Mine is outside all day everyday, so when I removed mine you can faintly see the "350z" in certian light. If its ****ed just put another 350z badge back on

I took of my 350Z emblem and didn't replace it with any emblem. I think it looks much cleaner without any emblem. Now if I could just get rid of the large Nissan emblem.

just use a credit card. then buff the rest out.

i used an adhesive remover to get the sticky stuff out. but in the sunlight, you couldve still seen 350z imprinted on the trunk. so i buffed it.

I did this last night.

Used some regular dental floss (I think waxed floss might have been better).

Left quite a bit of residue on the hatch.

A little "Goo Gone" and a clean, soft white towel helped remove all the remaining residue.

Love the look.
