Default Those with Seibon Hoods

If you installed your own hood, did you need additional hardware to attach the hood to the brace-arms?

I haven't installed mine hood yet, but it looks like the bolts are build into the OEM hood. The Seibon hood just has a piece of wood with two holes drilled in it attached at the top... but no extra hardware in the box.

Can anyone clear up whether I'm going to need to find some sort of hardware to attach the hood?

Thanks.

The hood should have the studs on it. You may need to reuse the bolts from the OEM.

*Update*

The bolts holding the piece of wood to the hood actually were the ones I was supposed to use. I guess the wood just prevented them from striping and held them in place.

Anyways, put the hood on and bolted it up this weekend...

Fits like a charm... now I'm just waiting for my hood pins to arrive, although, I don't really want to put them in and ruin the clean look. (Then again, I don't want my hood popping up and smashing my windshield at 60+ mph... )

Nice hood very clean. I think the hood pins are a great look for the hood.

I'm ordering mine today.

Looks good, Clean.

If youw ant it to remain clean you should get the flat aerotech hoodpins that are almost flush with the hood and just flip up. (I think thats the name)

Either way, Looks good. COngrats!

Did you get it cleared before you installed it? I didn't with mine and it's very yellowed.

Well, I clayed it and then layed down a UV Protectant (I figured this may help prevent the yellowing). I then followed that with 3 layers of sealant and some wax..

I am considering getting it cleared, as long as that doesn't cost as much as it would for a new hood.

The only issue I had with fitment was with the strut bar. It was rubbing because my strutbar had been raised with my MD Spacer, but I just went to Home Depot and picked up some smaller washers / spacers to fit under the strut bar and it all fits just perfect.

The wood is used to help support the corners. By far the easiest place for them to crack during shipping.

They do, but generally have weaker UV coats (especially with cheaper hoods).
