i have an '08 ... why doesnt the car auto lock the doors while driving up to a certain speed.. i thought that would be a basic feature in all cars by now ...

Just open the window, unless it's raining. When I let the car warm up, even in the winter, I just turn heat on, open windows, and stay toasty in side for a few minutes. Always have a fear of locking keys in car and having no way of getting them out.

read your manual, it tells you how to turn he active alarm off and it will only lock with the button.

i bought my Z used...and it didnt come with an owners manual.

can someone explain the process to disable the auto lock function... (locked keys in car this morning)

I don't recall that you can disable the locking functions. I know you can turn off the horn beep when locking.

Press and hold the lock & unlock buttons simultaneously, the car will then honk, or just flash the lights. Depending on which mode it's in, it will flash per press of the lock button/ not flash for unlock. OR honk on lock and flash/ flash on unlock. Hope that makes sense? lol
