if you didn't lock it w/ the alarm , pop the trunk w/ the button above the lic plate....sometimes it works, although my car has a mind of its own.

Yes. If you unlock the doors with the key fob and do not open a door or the hatch within a minute, it will re-lock the doors.

Also, this can happen to you if you:
1. Open the door
2. Start the engine, but don't close the door
3. Get out for some reason and let the door close behind you (for the first time since you started the car)

This happened to me in my garage, since I forgot something inside and my wife's car made it impossible to keep the door open while I passed it. I didn't realize it would lock. I had to run to the dealership and pay for a new key and run home to open it and turn it off.

yes it does, and I found out the hard way.....

left keys on the seat and close the door, did a walk around the car, pull the handle and it won't open........

Then i remembered my spare keys are also inside the glove compartment.

Or try locking the car, poping the the hatch with the key fob, and closing it with keys in trunk.

That ones fun (triple aaa scratched the **** out of my tint and door handle opening it.)

I never get out of my car and close the doors with the keys inside it, unless the window is all the way down. My '06 locks itself after about 1 minute.

I believe ^^^ is the only time the Z will lock itself, regardless of whether or not the car was locked or unlocked before pressing of the button on the key fob.

I always roll down my window if I ever leave the keys inside the car and I have to leave the car for a few seconds. Just in case.. you never know.

I tested this just as you described above, & approx 90 seconds later the car locked itself. 05 enthusiast
