Default Clear vs. Smoked

Hi,

I was thinking about changing my orange turn signals in the front. I was looking at clear LED or Smoked LED. Which one do you think looks better onthe Z.

Really depends upon the color of your Z and your own personal tastes... it does seem that the clear corner reflectors are in higher demand because of the pricing discrepancy between clear and smoked (using eBay and CourtesyParts as reference), but the LED versions... I haven't seen a whole lot of pricing on these reflector types.

Have an SB, using clear non-LED...

I personally prefer clear on blue. but blue and red look good with any color, even amber IMO. it blends and can offer a different look with all 3 colors.

You need to think about the whole picture, dare I say color "scheme" you are going for. Personally I am going for red paint with black/gunmetal rims, smoked markers, dark tint, etc. Are you going for the dark look or more of a light look?

I want to get a tint and Volk GT-7 Gunmetal Rims. I thought the Smoked Reflectors would compliment this. Plus I have a Black Pearl License Plate Holder.

i think the clear lenses that are smoked looked the best. you have to do it yourself, but i dont like the look of the smoked amber too much. i like plain amber though

Do the JDM clear lenses light up Amber? This is something I am interested in for my SS, but I don't want to use the LED markers... they don't seem bright enough.

They are reflectors. Believe it is Nissan's cost-cutting to make the Z affordable this time around.

Yes. You have to use amber bulbs or they won't be legal. You can buy them here http://www.courtesyparts.com/350z/exterior.html
They are $45.94 for just the clear lenses.

What would u guys think of a Red front reflecter instead of the orange one on a CS Z I think with the red brakes i painted and the rear red lights it might look good. Anyone want to photoshop one for me. That be great.

The 350Z front side-markers do not illuminate, they are reflex reflectors.

On a blue car, factory amber tends to look pretty good. Standard clear is okay, but on some shades of blue .. appears too bright. The best look IMO for a blue car, is with dark accents (dark wheels, dark sidemarkers, and of course.. dark headlights).

Whether you want the side-markers to illuminate or not, is another issue. We offer the front side-markers in a single and dual function LED configuration. Our high-intensity LED side-markers are the brightest and most uniform looking side-markers around.

You would get cited for having rear sidemarkers on the front of your car.

Reflectors in the front must be amber, reflectors in the rear must be red.

You can put clear reflectors on the front but must use amber bulbs to make it legal.

The reflectors reflect light, like bicycle reflectors. If you look at the clear/smoked reflector piece, you will see that the back is flat gray while the front is clear or smoked.

personally i think that the stock orange bumper lenses look best on the db. but if i had to get the clear or smoked. i'd suggest you to get the smoked especially since your rims will be dark and of course your license plate frame!!!
