Default Carbon Fiber hatch

What would you guys say is the best quality? I was originally looking at the Mastergrade hatch, but it does have that little bump at the end which I think would take away from the spoiler I intend to put on (I haven't decided on what yet, but I will be needing downforce).

I'm not really worried about price, but I'm open to suggestions..

It comes in either fiberglass reinforced carbon fiber which weighs 5.5kg or 12lbs without the glass and costs about $1300 plus shipping.

The other version is Polyester Carbon Composite (PCC) which weighs 4.5kg or 10lbs and costs $2500 before shipping.

Now are you still interested in knowing where you can pick one up?

By the way this is what PCC is by defintion:

The polyester resin is the same as that of FRP, but instead of glass fibers, Carbon Fibers are used to reinforce the product. Unlike FRP, the Carbon fibers in PCC are layered on top of each other, which is what makes PCC extremely strong and durable.

By the way we can get either one of these hatchs for you. PM me with your address if you are interested and I will get you a full quote with shipping.

Keep in mind that the above mentioned prices are MSRP, not what we sell them for.

Do you have any pics of people with the MG hatch with an aftermarket spoiler?

Sorry, we do not sell Mastergrade.

I also don't see how it is possible.

I've only seen 1 mastergrade hatch with a spoiler, and it was a high rise. You will have to measure the gap between the two "lip" points on the MG hatch and find a spoiler with a base between those points.

The Mastergrade hatch is between 11-13lbs and costs $900 shipped.

I see, I haven't really researched on which spoiler to go with for my needs, but the hump in the MG does look like a bit of a holdup for me, which is what makes the Sunline one look so attractive...

Seibon is crap though. I've seen their fitment and their finish on several cars with CF hatches. Its nothing more then for looks, and mostly a bad one at that.

Hey Jim,

Interestingly enough the Seibon Carbon Fiber hatch I got from you, still in the package, and the CF Nismo Wing I got are getting put together. My body shop guy is going to use a specialty glue type substance, that is made overseas, to bond the wing to the hatch without drilling holes into it.

I'll add pics to your posts when I get everything done. I the last load of parts going over to the shop today. Look for pics in a few weeks as I am having some major work done.

How is the quality of your Seibon hatch. The reason why I ask is perhaps they've changed their quality, as several companies have.

Can tell you later on today. I haven't taken it out of the box it was sent in as of yet. Too many parts and just a pain to rip into each box right off the bat.

I've heard that seibon has pretty good fitment. I have an oem seibon hood and its fine. One of my friends has the hood and the hatch and the fitment is perfect.
