Default Reasons to upgrade to 06+ Headlights?

I have an 03 350z and i know the headlight design changed for the 06+.

Beside them looking better, do they provide better lighting? Any other advantages?

IIRC they fit all years correct?

The lighting is improved as the 06+ headlights use a REAL projector for the HID's.

Hi Beams are HID, makes a difference.

03-05 lights have too much chrome and amber, the 06' projector is much bigger and better looking.

Bump.

A ladder recently fell on one of my headlights(2003 Touring), putting a nice little gash in the plastic outer cover. I'm contemplating biting the bullet and upgrading to the 06' lights. From what I see, this is the way to go.

Looking for some more good info anyone could share. I've read a few of the threads already and made note of possible gap issues some have had along with the continuous parking light being on. Any more shared info would be great...

The light output is much better and they look nicer.

Instead of having a separate bulb for hi/low beams, it uses one D2S bulb, and when you switch on your highs, a shield in the headlight is pulled up to fully open the headlight aperture.

As for the turn signal staying on, the 06+ headlights use a 3457(3157) bulb. You can clip the middle two wires off the bulb, and they'll act as normal signals without being on all the time.

there are zero gaps, it's all in how carefully you line them up during the install

Vo - go for it, trust me. While expensive it was $ very well spent

Nice! Yeah Ben, I was reading about having to cut the little wires off the back of the bulbs. Looks pretty easy from what I can see. The only problem I'll have is the price tag. $$$$

Sounds good man. I'll do alittle searching around and see what I can find that doesn't kill the bank account.

I love my 2006 headlights. The bi-xenon setup is nice since you have HID light output for both your normal and high beams. IMO the whole headlight / projector assembly looks much nicer than the 03-05 design. The addition of the 4 sidemarker LEDs is a nice touch too.

Got pictures of the wire, and pictures of how they actually look like without them being on all of the time.

Certain other manufacturers still have better HID projector setups overall than the 06+ bi-xenon IMO, but for us, it's the best we've got, so I'll take it!

Not to mention they look a hell of a lot better than 03-05, even more so blacked out.

06 lights are pure $ex... paint them black and they look even better. I'm waiting to pick up a set.
