Yeah... I guess, I was looking for a low budget project... I found the harness in other thread though, I wonder if someone has done it since then.

Just to combine everything to one thread:

There's a local guy who installs these, unless you planned on doing it yourself.

FYI that is not the right harness. I purchased that exact harness thinking the same thing and quickly learned that my thought process was incorrect.

This is a simple mod. You just have to man up! Cutting into your car is nerve racking! I first did it on my WRX and now did it to my 350Z. You can buy everything you need right from Nissan. Pics of mine are in my album..

the original picture in the ops post is mine. I just eyeballed the distance from the Z logo to the top of the sidemarker by looking at pictures of Japanese Z's. As for the harness, I used ones off a jdm EF civic. The gray plug that holds the bulb is actually made of rubber, so it fits in real tight and snug into the lens. Even though the little tabs don't line up to the ones one the sidemarker, the rubber is very flexible and its goes in probably better then it would OEM wise. btw, if you plan on doing this yourself and you make an outline on your fender, always cut inside the lines you traced. If its too small you can always shave more off, but if its too big you're screwed.

why wouldn't you do the side mirror blinkers? They look so much better.

Why? Because he's looking for JDM bling!
A quick guide to doing this install.
1--have a drill--with Metal bits
2--A dremil tool
3--A nibbler--This tool you can buy at a Auto Store. It cut pieces of sheet metal in tiny little squares.

Make a stencil to outline the whole. Use pleny of blue tape to mark the area around where your going to cut. Why?? When that dremil slides, you will put a nasty gash in your paint. Outline the whole with the stencil. If you prep the stencil and measure you can get the distance from the badge to the sidemarker perfect.
Drill, cut with the nibbler, sand with the dremil--use a little silicone--mount
done
enjoy

If you remember, the mirror blink option came from Japan.

Although i would prefer if the clear indicator panel was half the size and more stealthy like on the Audi's.

Are you attempting to state that those mirror covers you posted above were an optional Nissan Japan accessory for the 350z? If so, that was never the case.

Nope, that's not what i am attempting to state.

I merely stating the mirror blinker "concept" originated from Japan, on Japanese vehicles. Not stating these are/were an option on the 350z, but they definitely should have been!

Although the mirror blinkers didn't really appear until 2004.

So if I buy this set of side markers here:

http://www.shopresponse.com/jdm_niss...e_markers.html

Will it come with the harness that holds the bulb? I don't care about splicing into the turn signals on the other end, that's no big deal. But I just want to make sure that the lenses come with something to actually hold the bulb.

Ehh those mirrors are hideous. I'd want something more subtle, some discrete electroluminescent indicators on the mirrors would be better. Either way I'd like to do either of these mods, as I feel the side indicators are a good safety feature...

Kwame, did you ever find something to use with them? I just ordered the lenses last night...so I guess now I have to find a harness for the bulb with wires on the other end.
