Timmay-

Where is that 1/4" gap? I forwarded your questions and pictures you PM'd me to brad over at Asuka. I'll PM you his reply with pointers he might have. You're one of 2 people who have actually installed this roof, so I doubt there will be much help here.

I have the Mastergrade roof car instead of Asuka. You were not suppose to tuck the edge underneath the molding because it will create stress. Instead, over the molding. Thats what I did with mine, and it looks great. Hope this helps.....

yeah it has to go under the molding there is quite a bit of material that follows the contour of the unibody. that 1/4 inch gap is on the lower side of the molding. instead of sitting flush, there is nothing backing the molding up it's pretty much just held there by double sided tape.

Timmay, I told Jim I would clue in on this one. What we did is took the pillars off and pop riveted it into the roof. Then we sanded down the edges and molded it into the exsisting roof. It sounds liek a bunch of work but it really wasn't that bad at all. If you are beyound the point of pop riveting you could always mold it in and you will have no problems. Let me know if I can be of anymore help.

Here are a few pics of mine:

Here's what I was given by Asuka, I hope this helps:
"look at the pics with the screws tap into the edge of the roof cap front to back along the edge of the roof cap, these pieces you will have to drill a small hole and screw the roof down, be careful not to over tighten those pieces (flat screw head should be better for clearance), the 3M tape should go from one side of the car to the other side (driver to passenger) front and back, if you notice as well the front winshield molding goes over the top of the roof cap.....this should give you enough clearance for the pillars as well as securing your roof from extreme speed, you could have a third screw midway each side if you're still insecure about having the roof flying off. hope this helps."
