Default Removing driver's door switch panel

I posted the question in another thread a few days ago but didn't get any replies. How do I remove the switch panel finisher trim pictured below? I ordered a new one because the old was scratched.

I appreciate the help.

what the hell did you do to that?

also, there should be a circular bolt cover at the bottom of the middle piece (under what looks like foam). you pop that cover and unscrew it. the vinyl piece next to it just pops right off. once that first screw/bolt is out, the rest is pretty much straight forward.

Thanks for the info!

That pic isn't from my car... mine is actually very minor compared to the one pictured. There's a lengthy thread about the scratches in that area. The area scratches very easily, especially if you wear a wedding ring.

The piece was $64.22 + shipping from courtesyparts.com. Part # 80961-Z33006 for a 2006 Z.

no, that part does not "pop right off". the vinyl padded part next to it does but the switches do not

Are you sure? I don't see any screws or screw covers on mine. I guess maybe when the new panel arrives I might be able to figure out what is holding the old one on...

03-05 you need to remove the screw and screw cover. Not sure about the 06+.

Just wanted to add a final verdict to this thread...

I replaced the finisher trim piece tonight --- it just pops off, no screws, not on the '06 interior anyway. I used a small right angle pick and started at the end closest to the padded arm rest. Pull straight up and then work your way toward the front as there are several clips holding it in. Once it's loose you can snap off the switch assemblies. New one snaps back on.

My interior black. The first part I received from Courtesy was grey. After returning it they sent me part # 80961-CF40E which worked perfectly.

Thanks for the help.

hmm, now i got to go out and look at mine again, i could have sworn that you had to loosen a screw/bolt to take the whole switch cover out. i knew the padded piece just pops right out.

even this site shows the screw i was talking about (step 2)

http://liljerk.morpheus.net/350Z/front_speakers/

but then again, it could be different in a 06+

Thank you for the posts. I have the exact same scratches on my armrest and the other plastic parts in the interior. Apparently there was a defect in the paint and it didn't bind correctly. It appears to be in the 06's. Anyway, Im wrapping my parts in 3m vinyl wrap and needed to know how to remove the armrests. thank you
