Hi,
I plan to purchase the Veilside style V1 front Lip, and side add ons from Calvin @ CRG (anyone brought those from him? how's the fitments?)
I wanna to paint them in "Flat Black" for my 05 SS.
I wanna to know if any one can tell me how to do it myself?
what are the steps to do it?
do i really need clear coat for flat black paint?
i'm debating on using spray gun or rattle spray can for "Flat Black", what do you guys think?
i'm novice on painting and body kits stuff.....please help me!
Thanks

If you feel like doing it yourself, go for it. You might surprise yourself, but be prepared to pay the extra when you need a pro to strip and paint it. I painted my upper plenum and had many compliments on this forum. It was my first ever attempt at base coat/clear coat and wet sanding.

step 1-go to autozone of any of those chain parts stores
step 2- pick up a couple of cans of the color paint you want
step 3- follow directions on can, apply liberally until satisfied
step 4- take lots of pictures and post them here.

IF you plan on just doing small things in flat black and dont have a paint gun, just go to autozone or something, get some 1,000 grit wet/dry sand paper and wetsand what you want to paint. then buy a can of some satin black and spray. remember mist coats 1 at a time. The more THIN coats the better, not less heavy coats.
