Just did this a couple days ago, installed a 350Z carbon fiber ram air duct on my 8, fit perfectly Sorry for the crappy iphone pics, let me know what you think..

really? Im surprised you guys think it looks bad, its actually really common among rx8 owners to use these.

You should have let it be.. The 8 looks good stock with rims.

 

Yea, the stock look wore off after 3 years I think some better pictures may help, Ive had nothing but compliments in real life.

 

The air duct looks 100x better on a Z than on a RX-8. Shouuld've kept your Z...

 

I think it looks OK but I prefer the Racing Beat Duct since it stays hidden.

I don't think I'll do this to my RX-8.

Kudos on the innovation though.

 

lol, so what you just said was I should of kept my Z becuase the air duct looks beter on a Z than an RX8, that makes sense.

I though about going with the racing beat duct.

I wanted something different though, Im not sure if you're a member on rx8club.com or not, but I saw some 8's with the same thing and I definately liked the look. I think its out of place right now because my car is too stock, but I have a few other things thatll be on before I take it out of storage in the spring, hopefully by that point itll look a little more balanced.

 

LOL, i think u misinterpreted.
1. You should've kept your Z (not because the duct looks better on a Z,
even though it does look better)
2. The duct doesn't look right on RX-8.

If you can't understand this, I really don't know how much more simpler i can break it down to ya....

Its all good, My girlfriend called it a nostril haha. It is really black or white, I get people that love it and people like most of which here who politely call me an idiot.

Dont really like it on Z's either, but for some reason it seems it doesnt sit flush on the 8. Maybe its just the angle.

 

well,that may be half the problem. As I stated, these pictures were taken by cell phone the night of the install, the duct in these pics is actually just laying in the hole, it wasnt drilled in yet. So it sits perfectly flush and looks great in real life, Ill try to get some better pics and maybe thatll do some justice......
