LED Mod - PLCC2 replaces PLCC4?
I am doing a blue LED mod and have a couple questions for someone who has done it before.
All of the LEDs on the center gauges, and some of the ones in the main cluster are PLCC4 packaging - they have four contacts, two on each side. These are different from the PLCC2 LEDs recommended for the mod. Do you just use the PLCC2 LEDs in place of the original PLCC4 ones, so the pads on each side of the LED would be bridged? Or do I have the wrong LEDs?
Also, what is the best way to test the LEDs? I tried hooking up the center gauges only, without the main cluster in and they didn't light up. I am not sure if the main cluster also needs to be in, or if my LEDs are wired wrong. What needs to be hooked up at minimum to make the center gauges light up?
Thanks!
