Default Bucket seats & airbags. Will the deploy???

Hey everyone,
So for all of you who have viewed my recent two threads know it is regarding Sparco seats and those threads can be closed out being that I obtained the information needed (so any mods feel free if you read this).

I do have a question now regarding the installation of Sparco race seats or race seats in general and airbags (I searched but was unable to find a thread on it). By installing a pair of Sparco seats, will my airbags still deploy if I'm in a crash??? If they won't, what do I need to do so that they will???

Thanks everyone!

That thread didn't really provide that much info. Whatev, was going to install the seats myself but I guess I'll just have a professional car shop install the seats and I'll tell them that the airbags must remain operational. I'd rather do that than employ techniques that "trick" my car into thinking false information which is pretty much what the other post recommended.

Anways, Thanks for your response and your help man, it'smuch appreciated.

Unfortunately, at this moment in time that is the only way your airbags will remain operational if you switch out the stock seats whether they are installed at a shop or not.

In simplest terms your options are to somehow have the weight sensors installed in your new aftermarket seats (don't ask me how because i do not know) or roll them up as mentioned by Chebosto otherwise they will not work.

Oh man I didn't know that. Well thanks. I guess Ill do some research and make some phone calls to see about the possibility of installing weight sensors in the sparco seats, but if it isn't possible Ill use the technique provided in your information. Thanks man.

well, i supposed you could always put the weight balast bag/sensors underneath the padding of the sparco cushions. you'll just need to have a wire extension for the connector, maybe you can go through the submarine belt hole, or something similar.

Then what is the deal with the NISMO air bag removal harness?

http://www.mynismo.com/products/?id=2800

I thought this essentially over rides the signal to make the SRS ECU think that the seat is always occupied, essentially allowing the side impact airbags and steering wheel and passenger dash airbags to deploy?
