Default Opinion on a DIY mod.......

on brakes. I consider myself to have a decent eye for tasteful mods on the Z but am stuck on painting brake calipers. I have to admit I like the look if colors used tie the car color in well. What are boards thoughts?

On previous cars, I've always painted them black regardless of the color. I have however seen some painted red with auto manufacturer sticker on top. It looked tasteful and OEM.

I painted them red for awhile and decided it looked too ricey for me, so I painted them black and put a small silver Nissan decal on them...

Just my opinion. To paint something is to highlight it. Its like saying "look at my average brakes!" Not for me...

Thanks for the pics. The black looks less obvious than the stock "nasty as hell" I have now.

I agree. Get the caliper paint kit from Autozone/Pep Boys, it costs about $15 and comes with high temp caliper paint, a brush and brake cleaner. Its pretty easy, just clean the calipers, mask off areas you don't want paint and put about three coats on.

I painted mine red. Not so much for people to look at them and say "Oooh, those stock brakes are HOT!", but because I liked a little color against my silver car. Same reason I bought a Z with orange seats. Not so anyone would be impressed with my stock seats, but because I like a little pop of color.

I painted mine red and I'm pretty happy with the way they look.
