I bought a CF hood from Showstoppers USA and took it to a bodyshop to get it clear coated. Guy calls me today and says his painter doesn't want to clear coat it because it has a solvent on it that is bubbling up (really fine bubbles)

He says if he coats it he's afraid it's going to react and mess it up.

Do the OEM Seibon Carbon Fiber hoods come with a clear coat on it already????

THey do but its not UV protectant from what I know but I may be wrong. I think you have to reclear it by removing the top layer then clear it with UV protectant.

They do have UV protection and are clear coated/gelcoated.

The Seibon hood that I have turned yellow in about a year. It kinda matched my gold VSXX rims.

So should I just leave it how it is for now to save money? And maybe in a couple of months or so I can get the first layer taken off and get it re-coated/protected?

yea i would skip the reclear and sport it till its yellow, then paint it. 8)
