they sell them at that site then. people have used them in the past. just a bit less bright, youll notice the stock bulb can actually light up signs at night, the 6 or 10LEDs in a cluster that they use wont be able to do that.

I still love my Luxeon parking lights... I've impressed many of my friends with this mod. It's pretty darn bright at night...

Heh... I make them. I don't plan to sell any... sorry. The Luxeons are just 1W emitters. 5W produces tooooo much heat besides the cost factor. However, I'd like to use them in fog lights... but they don't look so good on our cars.

If I can get my hands on plastic bulb plugs, I'll be happy to make some. They will be pricey though, but not nearly as pricey compared to what you'll pay ClearCorners for (Their work is painstaking, and so it's pricey). Depending on how much I can get the Luxeons for.... they probably won't cost any more than $50 (overestimate) a pair if I were to sell them. Also, I'd opt for better materials, design, and components. After making my bulbs, I already thought on a new design.

I would use a total of 8 super bright LEDs + 1 Luxeon side emitter per bulb! 4 LEDs will point sideways while the other 4 will be perpendicular to it. Luxeon side emitter will be in the middle.

What I do is buy cheap LED bulbs... take them apart, and reuse the plastic wedge.

What more pix? E-mail me. I still have my rear signal bulbs since I hardly have time to install them (whatta pain in the **** to remove the **** of my car.. :-P)

A real design requires more components... but I don't really care if they burn out... my dome lights still work after over a year. I can still see in the dark!

One more thing... I built a prototype in the past that used 13 LEDs. This was before I got my car. The design was based on an 1156/1157. The result? Yea it was bright. Then after I got my car:

1) It didn't fit.
2) It wasn't as bright as I hope.

So I got the APC amber bulbs that used mini bright amber LEDs with a superflux LED in the middle. It looked nice, but then it was crap at the same time. The actual light emmitted was at the LEDs... and it had a small projection with little circles. It didn't spread in the housing at all. My Luxeon design + 4 LEDs..... wayyy better than APC design. :-D

Single Luxeon (sightly underpowered using 9V) versus pocket LED:

yeah those luxeons are crazy, in some cases over powering. even if I tried to put them into a reflector, theyd blind oncoming traffic and Id still need even 3 of them, thats 30$ per reflector in LEDs.

naw... but that doesnt mean their useless. oh the possibilities.

thanks for the pics too, nice to see the light output difference, it really is noticable.

Heh.. my trunk light mod is cool, too! The material inside did not reflect white light at all, so I thought my light was weak. So at night I stuck my hand in the trunk and the light spread was even and it filled the trunk! :-D clean white light!
