Once to open up without paint, once to seal after painting, once again to open back up to fix fogging and cutoff issue, then one more time to reseal after that.

So three times in the oven with paint.

Make sure you test your re-sealing job! If you do a crappy job, you'll regret it (they will always fog up).

I've never heard of the shower trick, but it sounds genius.

I just did mine this weekend. Your right, It is killer on the thumbs and fingertips. I think gloves might have helped...

I used a mini pry bar and wore gloves when I did mine. My fingers didn't hurt. Also, there is no need for wetting the cardboard. It just fogs up lenses.

Ur lucky im responding...i haven't been here(logged on) in years. My z got totaled by a 17 year old that didn't stop... So I dont come on here any more. Its ok tho I have a widebody rx7 now. But anyways...

ya I glossed them. But depending on the color of your car they should both look great. I almost wish I did mine satin tho but the gloss paint matched so well on the gloss black body paint

What kind of flat / satin black paint are you all using to paint your 06+ headlight housings? And are you sanding the plastic before painting, or just spraying it on as-is?

I don't think it would affect at all but if you are interested I have a housing for sale.
