Default Center Consol

So i got a couple sctracthes here and there!

on the cubby and lower parts~

im planning on just repainting the whole thing instead of buyting a new one.
if it dosnt work out i guess i will go to plan B and purchase a new console.

i just want it to look OEM! so can any one point me to a paint that looks exactly like OEM?

Not all shiny and stuff.

thanks!

If your going to use a rattle can, theres a type of black called Matte black. You can get it from any car store. I think it might be the same color, not sure though.

I just did the lower half of my center console. I was sick of looking at all the scratchs and the silver trim rings. I used Duplicolor Flat Black for Vinyl and Fabric and I think it came out pretty good. Maybe just a hint more light reflection than stock but overall, I'm really happy with it. I'm doing the upper console next weekend.

Here's a pic. The top piece is just visible for comparison

Yes, color matches up pretty good, if you look at the edge where the two pieces meet you will see the lower is a bit darker.

Not the same with the door control panels though. My driver's side door control panel was all marked up, so I popped it out, took out the switches and hit it with the same stuff.

it came out considerably darker than the arm rest and the stock color of the control panel when compared to the other side. I figure to paint the arm rest piece that is to the rear of the control panel and see how that comes out but when the door is open now, it's ez to notice that it does not match up.

If you want to do the shift pattern plate at the top of the shift ****, don't pry it out like I did. Push it out through the bottom. You can probably drill a hole up in there, turn it upside down and put a little acetone in to loosen up the glue.... then maybe tap it out with a long screwdriver and a hammer....

But on the center console it came out nice, very close. I figure when I do the top half, I won't be able to tell at all.

Thanks. This was fun. I'm thinking of going after the silver pieces on the doors as well, maybe paint the lock rocker button red...

Thought about doing those pieces on the steering wheel but then thought that I would probably cause the airbag to deploy..

Next week I'm picking up the black nismo shift ****, should clean up the look even more.
